Alert fatigue is not a discipline problem — it is a signal design problem. Mute the noise:
- Page on symptoms customers feel (checkout 502, queue age), not every CPU > 70%
- Auto-repair safe failures (stuck workers, full tmp) before opening incidents
- Attach deploy markers so on-call knows if they are debugging today's release
